There's someone in the village who can probably identify a farm and its owners given enough information though I'm not sure how far back he can go.

If you mail me some details to my e-mail address above then I can forward it on.

Hallo Mike, Great to hear from someone connected to Bletsoe. I haven't seen these plaques anywhere before until my brother sent that photo I added to the blog. I think it is a wonderful idea and really hope it catches on.

I won't be able to visit the Bletsoe Fete, I live too far away, but my brother will be visiting again, he noticed the Churchyard cleanup details on the notice board!! Are there many farms in Bletsoe, I am trying to find which one my ancestor had?

Thanks for visiting my blog, do pop by again! I am sure I will be mentioning Bletsoe more than a couple of times as my research progresses.

Kind regards,

Christine (rootsresearcher)

The plaque was given to the village in 1986 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the Domesday Book. So it's nearly 25 years old (and I remember helping screw it to the lychgate....)

There must be more of them around though I've never seen one anywhere else.

Come to Bletsoe Fete on 19 June in the Village Field and the Historical Walk round the village on Sun 20 June!
