Ancestor Anniversaries: Stephen Read

Filed under: ANCESTOR ANNIVERSARIES, Stephen Read — Tags: , , — rootsresearcher @ 10:47 pm

Time for another of my Ancestor Anniversaries.  This time it is to mark the Baptism on this day in 1715 at Caversham, Oxfordshire for Stephen Read.  Stephen is the son of Edward Read and his wife Mary Fairbrother and is the eldest of their four children.  Stephen is also the cousin of my 6 x great grandfather Cozens Read.

No matter how much I have searched, I have not been able to discover anything else about Stephen.  I know that he is not buried in or around Caversham, so maybe did not die as a baby or young child.  I have searched the Oxfordshire Marriage Index and know if he lived that long, then he certainly did not marry in Oxfordshire (if he married at all).  I haven’t come across anyone who could be this Stephen Read in Buckinghamshire either, so it looks like there is more searching to do for him!!

These Ancestor Anniversaries are certainly helpful in reminding me of those ancestors I need to follow up on.  If I come across anything else about Stephen then I will certainly add it to this blog – perhaps I need to make a “Long Lost Ancestor … ” section?
