Hallo Paul, Thanks so much for your comment and please accept my apologies for the very long delay in replying. Because of really bad internet connection problems I haven't been able to get back into the blog until today.

I am pleased with the info you give about Brimstone or Brimpton and where it possibly was/is. I've no idea when we can get back to that part of the world, but if we do I shall certainly be having a look around Milton Common and higher!! I shall have to do more googling (or whatever) to see what I can come up with - love the mention of the minutes you found for Albury and Tiddington.

Hope you are keeping well.

Kind regards,

Christine (rootsresearcher)

I suspect that Brimstone or Brimpton was to the south of the village, near Milton Common. The VCH mentions that the soil of Brimstone was better than most of the village, not being too wet, which suggests it was higher. There was a Brimpton Grange hotel & cafe on the London road, now the Oxford Belfry hotel, & a Brimpton Cottage in Milton Common in the minutes of Albury & Tiddington parish council, July 2006 (it's amazing what you can find on the web these days ;) ). This makes sense, as it is on the Great Haseley side of Tiddington/Albury.
