Surprises!: Project 365 – taking a photo daily for a year!!

Well, it’s a surprise for me!  I loved the idea of this when I first came across it, so I have decided to give it a go.  Because the Project is not genealogy as such I have started a new blog where I can post my daily photos and say something about them, why I took them and so on.

It will certainly be a test of my motivation and perseverence and I really intend on actually taking a photo every day.

In a way it will be a virtual diary of my year so in a hundred or so years time my descendants will get a glimpse of my life in 2011.  A snapshot of one of my (now many) years.

It’s only Day 2 for me but if you want to have a look, please visit http://picsbychris.wordpress.com and I would welcome any comments.  There is an email subscription thingy there, so you can be notified when I add posts.  😉

  1. Yeah! I love Project 365 even though I haven’t had the courage to make that big of a commitment myself. I’ll be following along.

    • Hallo Michelle, Thanks for popping over to my blog and for your comment. I think the commitment is what makes it difficult especially as I have seen elsewhere that keeping it going to take a photo everyday gets more difficult as time goes on. But I’m going to give it a go, it should be interesting for me, if nothing else!! 😉

When you decide to give it a go yourself, I shall look forward to following your year too.

      Kind regards,

      Christine (rootsresearcher)

  2. Hi Christine,

I visited your photo journal and left a comment but it didn’t show up…so I popped over here to leave another.

Project 365 is such a great idea! I rec’d a new digital (Canon) for Christmas, I should try to start my own… it would be great practice to improve my photo-taking skills.

If only there were more hours in a day, I’m not sure I’d be able to keep up with it.

Good luck with yours, and keep it going! It will be great fun to look back over your year when you get to 365.

    • Hallo MarDi,

Thanks for having a look at my photo journal. Not sure why your comment didn’t show (although it is set like here, to be moderated). I haven’t received notification that you left a comment either, so will go and have another look to make sure I haven’t messed up the settings for comments!!

I’m not sure I have the time or the motivation really to do the Project, but I’m giving it a go and really think you should too! A good test for getting used to your new camera. 😉 My only concern is thinking about what to take a pic of each day, unless things just happen and as long as I have the camera to hand I can click away!!

I decided to write something with each photo, cos knowing me by the end of the year I might forget why I took it 😉 but it’s amazing how I don’t forget stuff I’ve found out about my 6 x great grandfather Cozens Read who is mentioned oh so many times on this blog!! Ha ha!!

Thanks for coming back here to let me know your comment didn’t show at the other blog. Hopefully any future comments you might like to make will show there.

      Kind regards,

      Christine

  3. You’re persuasive Christine! 😀 I think I’ll give it a go, and visiting your photo journal will be my daily incentive to remember to take and post my own!

My memory being the same, I’ll write something with each one as well. 🙂

    Best wishes,
    MarDi
