Hallo Hazel, Thanks for popping back and for your compliments about the blog. Much appreciated! I will see if I can put you in touch with Enid. I haven’t needed to do any research in Ireland but from things I have read, I think many records for Ireland have been lost/damaged over time so there is not quite so much available to try to check. With regard to the Will on this blog that you saw mentioning a bequest to female Pollard I would think it was probably the Will of Rachel Read or the Will of Ann Cozens or the Will of Michael Read. You will find these by clicking on the Amanuensis Monday link in the menu on the right. I have so many Wills I can’t remember offhand who received what from whom so sorry I can’t be more specific than that at the moment. (This is another thing on my To Do list, itemising what bequests were made by whom to who)!!

I hope you continue to find things of interest here. You can copy and save to your hard disc any docs, photos etc., that particularly interest you.

Hello Christine,
I must say, I love this site. Everyone seems to have such enthusiasm. Enid has not contacted me as yet, so, yes I would like to get in contact with her. At the moment I am trying to research Barbara Foxs’ parents. It seems they came from Ireland between 1834 and 1836 which is about 9 years before the potato famine. But not knowing what part of Ireland they came from is proving a stumbling block.They had two children born in Ireland too! I will keep trying.
I found a will on this sight that someone bequeathed something to a female Pollard. I thought I had printed it,but did’nt. I don’t seem to be able to find it!!!! Perhaps another senior moment!

Hallo Hazel, I’m not sure if you are writing to Enid, or me but using her name in error for mine? If you are writing to Enid, hopefully if she is following the comments she will see what you have said. As Enid is a cousin to me through her links with the Pollards, then she will also be a cousin to you too. If it is Enid you are writing this comment to, and she does not get in touch, let me know and I will put you in touch with each other.

This is so exciting, I have found several new cousins for me and my man Paul through this blog. It’s wonderful!

Hello Enid,
I am a direct descendant of Jeramiah and Catherine Pollard.
My mother was Frances Isabella Pollard born 1908 died April 2010 her father was William Thomas Pollard born 1865 died 1933 and her mother was Fanny Fullcher born 1866 died 1932. His father was William Pollard born 1837 died 1910 who married Barbara Fox born 1840 died 1927. Do any of your faily tree link with the names above. It would be lovely to know.

Hallo again Enid, Yes, it was this marriage that joined the Reads with the Pollard family. Jeremiah and Katherine were the first of three such marriages between each of their siblings. You will see the details in my other comment to your other post. Did you know of the other two Pollard/Read marriages? Do you have any Pollard Wills? I have one Pollard Will, not to hand at the moment, so cannot say which one, but I will dig it out.

Let’s keep in touch more, it would be nice.

Interested in your research as I have a 6xg grandfather Cozins Read born 24 May 1706 Caversham whose daughter Catherine born 3 May 1745 Lower Winchendon ID 1028137 married Jeremiah Pollard born 1745 Forest Hill Oxfordshire. Marriage took place on 19 Oct 1775 St. Nicholas Lower Winchendon. I have always understood that it was this marriage that joined the Reads and Pollards.
