Ancestor Anniversaries: Thomas Larner

For my first posting for the Ancestor Anniversaries series it is for Thomas Larner’s burial anniversary today in 1838 at Thame, Oxfordshire.

I feel a bit sad for Thomas because the only information I have for him is his marriage and his burial.  He married Elizabeth Read who was born in 1784 at Lower Winchendon, Buckinghamshire and she is the granddaughter of my 6 x great grandfather Cozens Read who you see mentioned a lot in this blog and who I relate all the other ancestors to so I know who they belong to!!

Thomas and Elizabeth married at Thame, Oxfordshire on 23rd January 1815.  I have not been able to find any children for them at all anywhere but have managed to follow Elizabeth after Thomas’ death through the Censuses etc., so have a lot more info about her.

Thomas was born about 1782 (given his age at burial) and because there is a very large group of Larners in Thame and Thomas was both married and buried there, I am thinking that he may well be from Thame too.  I need to look into this further particularly as after Thomas dies, Elizabeth is living with her parents in Larner’s Lane, Thame so for some reason someone in his probable family has been honoured in the town with a street named after them.

But for Thomas, that’s all I have.  It’s so sad, he lived his life, has gone and nothing else is known about him!!  I hope over time that I can discover more about his life.
