Lucy Harriet Sinclair (nee Dartnell) (1883 – 1984 yes, she was 101 years old when she died) is my dear grandmother. Because she was such a great age when she died, that meant that we were lucky enough to have her with us for a long time.
She was a very independent lady! She travelled the world on cruises (taking me with her on one of them) and my dear old grandfather was often left home alone!!
It’s very strange because my Aunt Lucy, her daughter, is coming up to being 100 this year and when she talks I can hear my grandmother, their voices are so alike.
Frederick Sinclair (1878 – 1970) is my dear grandfather. I remember spending many happy hours with him going through the many scrapbooks he made a long time ago. They were always interesting and were so very varied.
It wasn’t until I started researching our family history over twenty years or so ago, that I discovered that my grandfather actually had a brother! Sadly his brother died as a child and I suppose, over the years this poor brother was never mentioned!
